Not the only continuity error in the MCU

Well Yes in the Movie itself Thanos only Killed half of her race. BUT somewhere in the Comics Adam Warlock destroyed the race totally. SO Who knows if this was an Error or not! But beside that Well Thanos is known as a genocidal Warlord, So who knows if the Nova Corps just thought "Hey this Thanos guy was there well everyone is probably dead!" But like i said, who knows.

They hadn't really mapped out Thanos' motivation yet during GotG, so they felt ok with changing this bit of information that goes by really fast. However, as with the first Infinity Gauntlet in Thor (which was put in there before they decided to do Thanos and the stones) it doesn't have to be a continuity error. Both pieces of information are given by different people who interacted with the Zehoberei at different times. Thanos' army killed half, but the collapse of society, destruction of supply lines etc might have been their downfall, or their weakened state combined with their peaceful ways could've left them open to invasion.
